In-App Purchase Promo codes

Apple just announced the availability of In-App Purchase Promo codes today (October 28, 2016).

Android app publishers have been able to promote both apps and in-app purchases since January 2016.

Promo codes allow app publishers to offer a free copy of their app, and now also in-app purchase for promotional purposes.

Promo codes for App Purchases have been available for a while via the iTunes connect and this new In-App Purchase Promo Codes addition is a welcome change based on some communications with Pyze customers.

Promo codes for Influencer marketing

Apple suggests, giving press and influencers early access to your app’s in-app purchases with promo codes. App publishers can give away up to 100 promo codes for each in-app purchase item, and up to a maximum of 1,000 codes per app.

In-app purchase promo codes, similar to App promo codes are valid for 28 days from the day they are generated for the version you generated them for.

App Store customers can no longer rate or review an app they’ve downloaded using a promo code.

Users with Admin, App Manager, or Marketer role can request promo codes from the Features section of My Apps. Request up to 100 total promo codes for each platform version or 100 promo codes for each in-app purchase item, with a limit of 1,000 total in-app purchase codes per app every six months (Resetting on January 1 and July 1).
